The Shabby Apple

I was reading NieNie today and I ran across a reference to a shop called The Shabby Apple. I'd never heard of it before so I went to their website and they have some super cute dresses and swimsuits, and here's the shocker: the dresses have sleeves and go down to your knees.

Here's a dress that was on NieNie, but I couldn't find it on the actual website. I think it is adorable:

And some swimsuits:

  1. Wow I absolutely love all those dresses and swimsuits! I've heard of the Shabby Apple before but haven't had a chance to explore their website much yet. All the clothes you posted are so classy and elegant! Reminds me of Audrey Hepburn and Grace Kelly :)

  2. I'm sorry for all the comments Annie! I actually have a question for you if that is okay? I am looking for where to find modest, fairly casual (but still pretty) sundresses for spring, particularly dresses I can wear to class...do you have any advice on what stores, brands, or websites to check out? I thought you might be a good person to ask :)

  3. Caroline! So, I don't really have a great answer for you, because I am in search of that store with adorable modest sundresses too. Often when I see a dress that is modest, it's not super adorable, so it's hard to find both. This Shabby Apple place has some of the cutest modest dresses I've ever seen. But a few other companies I know of that sell modest casual dresses are: Mikarose, Sierra Brooke, and DownEast Basics. A lot of those stores are hit or miss, they sometimes have some really cute things, but a lot of times they don't. I usually end up just looking through Anthropologie for a dress that I can wear with a cardigan over it, or a shirt underneath. But I will continue to be on the lookout for good stores with cute, modest dresses and if I find anything I will definitely let you know!

  4. Annie, have you actually bought anything from Shabby Apple yet. I'm curious to see if they really hit the knee (cover everything that needs to be covered). I bought a dress there recently that I LOVE, but it was marked as hitting below the knee, and it covers my knee but is certainly not below it. So I'm a bit concerned to buy anthing that is marked knee length.

But isn't it a dreamy shop!

  5. Thank you so much for the suggestions Annie! I am looking up those stores right now :) I will keep looking for cute, modest dresses and I'll let you know if I find anything!

  6. Katie, no, I have haven't bought anything from it yet (I plan to one day), so that's good to know. You liked the dress you got from there, though? I'm always scared of buying things online and finding out that they aren't as cute in real life as I thought they would be.

  7. Update on the dress thing: I just learned of a website called eShakti where you can find a dress you like and then for an extra $7.50 you can have them add sleeves to it, or bring down the hem, or both, and so they customize it for you. I haven't looked at it yet, but what a cool idea! It might be worth browsing.
