Dancing is kind of a big deal over here

Love this piece:

Ella goes up to my computer pretty often and points to it and says, "Dancing dancing," and then we pull up some So You Think You Can Dance and ooh and ahh over all the dances and clap when the audience claps and Ella tests out the moves she just watched by performing them in the living room for me and Adam and we applaud her and then she runs over and grabs Gerard and gets him to dance with her and then begs her Dada to dance with her too.
She has some pretty awesome moves.
Some of them involve falling dramatically to the floor and she also has some really adorable arm swaying movements with fancy hand gestures.
She must be watching SYTYCD pretty closely to get the ideas for some of these moves.
And in the car Ella sometimes hollers, "Annie! Annie! Momma!"
And I look back at her and she gets this huge-o grin on her face and her eyes get all lit up and she starts shaking her little arms and head to the music that is playing in the car and doing those fancy hand gestures and oh my gosh, it's the cutest thing.
Dancing is kind of a big deal in this little home of ours.

It's That Time of Year Again for My All-Time Fave Show of Beautifulness

So You Think You Can Dance has been on for several weeks already and I haven't even mentioned a single thing about it on this little blog yet, which is shocking, considering how crazy I am about that show.
Here is a dance from this last week that I can't stop watching, I think it's so creative and gorgeous:

A Dance

You guys.
Seriously, this dance.
The music is perfect
The partnership is perfect
The choreography is perfect.
I got goosebumps on my arms watching it last night.
When it was done Adam and I turned to each other and were all, "whoa."
And I made him go back so that we could watch it again.
Oh, I love it!

Good shows and stuff

You guys, I have such a problem.
I love So You Think You Can Dance so much.
I seriously want to just break into happy tears after watching some of the dances.
It's ridiculous.

Also, I have no idea what took so long for me to hear about the wonderfulness of Downton Abbey, but I finally figured out that there are an unusual amount of people who seem to love that show and so I had to see what it was about.
But when I requested it at the library I was like #72 on the waiting list (proof that it must be good).
Luckily our library has this crazy rule about only being able to hold onto a movie for one week and they must have more than one copy because it came up to my turn really fast.
I started watching it today while making dinner.
And I will most definitely have no problem falling in love with this show.

Dancing

Did you guys see So You Think You Can Dance last night?
It was wonderful!
I had started doubting whether or not it really was as wonderful as I remember and then it came on and it was just as amazing as ever!
I was crying right along with Mary Murphy (who, by the way, I just love, I love her smile and how she screams when she sees a dance that she loves, she just seems like someone who you want to be around because she is so happy and nice and stuff).
And Nigel's faces at some of the auditions, not only were they great, but I agreed with a lot of them.
Adam liked the hip-hop auditions, I like the contemporary ones.
This was one of my very favorite auditions:

That may have been one of the auditions where I was trying to hide from Adam the fact that I was crying.
Because seriously, who cries over an audition?
I couldn't help it, I just loved it!
Go Hafen family!

This weekend, Ella is going to meet some of her great-grandparents and some great-aunts and uncles in the Spanish Fork/Provo area that she has never met before.
We are so excited!
But we're dreading Ella's reaction to the long drive.
We'll see how it goes.

A dance and Ella's shoes

So You Think You Can Dance begins this week and I'm pretty much dying with excitement because I love that show so much. In anticipation of it, here is a wonderful dance from a previous season:

Just some inspirational dancing

I may be slightly obsessed with Melanie, but with how beautifully she dances, it's hard not to be.
